An agricultural cow shed has been re-built and transformed using original Derbyshire stone to create a 2-bedroom ancillary dwelling with open plan living space. Floor plans showing the new arrangement. The planners approved this project within Greenbelt land on the condition that the character of the barn be retained in its courtyard setting. We reclaimed the original stone and took extra care with the proposed materials. Before the conversion the old cow shed was overgrown and unused. An old detached outbuilding has been totally transformed to become a smart one-bedroom annexe with comfortable living space for accommodation. Floor plans showing the new arrangement. It’s a relatively basic layout for this Retirement Bungalow but one that fulfilled all the couple’s requirements. They have been thrilled with the results and are seeing out their days economically and in style! Floor plans showing the new bungalow interior. A lot of work went into sustainability issues around this property and keeping this couple’s energy bills low with good amounts of insulation, solar panels and an air source pump heating system. A huge transformation for this property in Nottingham and the project is only half way complete. The property has doubled in size with a 2-storey extension towards the rear. The rear of the property is being thoroughly converted, adding large folding doors to create a light, bright space into the kitchen and dining area.
